Second Chance Rain

Second Chance Rain

Second chance on love, on life, on happiness

That is what the rain is to me now

Little water droplets come down on my face, and trickle down to my shoelace

They are the dreams, hopes, the fears and the many regrets that go unseen

That are now scattered on the pavement for all to see

They then gather into a puddle on the side of the road

Being splashed about by shoes and tires

For a moment everyone’s worries get brought up to the surface with the flood, of not just the water but with emotions carried on top of it

I look up at the sky and cry and wonder if I will ever feel alive

I close my eyes and know I will

Because these days are just a fraction of what my life will become
